My Story

Drew’s fixation with wildlife began at a very young age. His favorite books were always centered around animals and their habitats. No one could beat young Drew at a game of animal trivia… still can’t.

Over the years, Drew collected numerous reptiles, insects, and amphibians - but, as he got older, his appreciation for nature matured. He could no longer justify taking these amazing creatures out of their natural habitats. At the age of sixteen, he discovered photography. Capturing images with his camera meant that he could once again bring his beloved animals home with him. 

Drew’s passion and desire to share the beauty and mystery of Simi Valley’s local wildlife has led him to the publication of this book. I know it will be the first of many…
